Trevor was the most awesome ring bearer ever. But on to that later. That morning, while the boys spent about four frustrating hours setting up the head table back drop of tulle, twinkle lights, and PVC pipe, Charity was having a much sweeter time. Explanation: I’d had a baggie of m&m’s in my purse to bribe Trevor into walking down the aisle, if need be. She found them.
By the time the boys got back home to get dressed for pictures Trevor was exhausted. Andy and Rene were in town from Virginia and stopped by to borrow our Prius for the weekend. Both Trevor and Charity chose this time to have major meltdowns. Charity was just being her usual anti-social self and Trevor was so upset at how tight the neck in his shirt was once I buttoned the top button. I tried to tell him it was one of the few times in life in which men had it rough (I’m really just kidding guys) but he could not be consoled. Solution: lollipop.
Charity and I dropped the boys off at the church. Trevor fell asleep on the way over and with his earlier meltdown still vivid in our minds, we were worried it was going to be a long day for him.
According to the report, he did magnificently. He started off smiling for every picture and when he tired of that, he still stood cooperatively. I woke Charity from her nap to get to the church for some family photos that we never ended up taking and boy was she in a pissy mood. We could not get a smile out of her, in fact we were just happy when she wasn’t crying.
Man, my little guy is looking so handsome and grown up.
Trevor and Jadyn were an amazing little couple. They walked down the aisle together dropping petals. They still had a few left in the basket when they reached the altar, so they had to stand there and empty the basket before they would part. So cute. That was to be the end of their role but Jadyn’s mom, Amanda, and I thought that with all their excitement and good behavior they needed to walk back down the aisle together at the end of the ceremony. When the time was right, Amanda and I made eye contact, gave each other the look and each sent our cutie back out to the altar. As they made their way back up the aisle they made sure to step on every petal they had earlier dropped. They really were a pair.
At the reception both my kids were in great moods, Charity because there was food, and Trevor because there was dancing. I’ve yet to figure out how to put video out here (that’s one function in google blogger that I like better) but if I ever do I’ll put out the video of Trevor and Jadyn cutting a rug together. Gosh, they were so fun to watch.
The kids and I were at a table with my mom,
aunt and uncle,
and Andy and Rene.
The bride was beautiful, the food scrumptious, the venue lovely, and the company amazing. Congratulations Jarrod and Christiana!
