Dental hygiene with a smile March 3, 2012

Trevor had a “bedtime” week at preschool a few weeks ago.  Along with bathing dolls and reading bedtime stories, they made this artwork and brushed its teeth.  Aunt Ana is a dental hygienist so we had fun sneaking this onto her and Uncle Jarrod’s front storm door so that when they opened their main door they were greeted with a huge smile!

We tried to be sneaky but we apparently weren’t quiet enough.  Just as we were driving away we saw saw Uncle Jarrod walk out with a huge smile on his face.

Preschool party February 15, 2012

Trevor had his first school Valentine’s Day party.  He brought his Valentines in a heart sack and came home with a bunch from his classmates, complete with plenty of sugar.  When I showed Trevor this Valentine’s picture of him and Ms. Becky, and prefaced it with, “Don’t you just love Ms. Becky?” he got a huge, sweet, sheepish smile on his face, and replied, “Yeah, she’s so nice.”

Mommy and Daddy got some great Valentine hugs out of the deal as well.

Show-and-tell January 18, 2012

Trevor brought the funniest show-and-tell to preschool.  A few months back, he found a “fossil” in the preschool parking lot.  He determined, through careful investigation, that it was a toenail of the brachiosaurus type.  Ever since, it has been sitting on his dresser next to his bed.  For show-and-tell, we placed it in a purple satin treasure box and took it to school with us.

We rehearsed the details and Trevor was so excited to share it with his class.  At the end of the day, as the kids exited their classroom in single file, Trevor rounded out the end of the line, carrying his treasure box.  Ms. Becky informed me that he had explained very well to the class that he had found it in the preschool parking lot and that it was a brachiosaurus toenail.

Derek took Trevor to preschool on Friday and she told him that all the kids were so excited about the dinosaur bone and that in her 35 years of teaching, she can’t recall a funnier show-and-tell.

I sure wish I could have been there to hear him share.
