Sinus infections and bronchitis AGAIN! December 14, 2011

I was bound and determined to let the kids finally get over one cold on their own without any medication.  After over two weeks of congested heads, junky coughs and sleepless nights, I finally gave up on their immune systems and took them to see good ole Dr. M.  He knows us well.  Wheezing…check…steroid Rx.  Bronchitis…check…antibiotic Rx.  Every time they get a cold, it settles in their chests and they cannot kick it.  I had a doctor once tell me it’s an indicator that they may be prone to asthma later on but Dr. M. says they are likely to outgrow it and if it was an indicator of asthma we would likely be seeing signs of it by this age.  I’ll go with Dr. M’s prognosis.  On the plus side, their ears always look great.  I would much rather deal with the never-ending cold than ear infections, tubes and all that jazz.
