I guess I never posted the official 12 month stats from May 2nd. While I was just sure she would surpass 20 pounds by a year, she weighed in at 19 and a quarter pounds, placing her in the 20th percentile for weight. She measured 29 inches in length, placing her in the 50th percentile for height. Her head circumference, whatever it was, was in the 50th percentile as well.
Trevor on his first birthday
Charity, the day before hers
She is crawling all over the place, getting up on her knees often, and occasionally pulling herself to standing. She really shows no interest in walking or cruising yet. After her birthday we cut back to nursing morning and nights and are down to just mornings now. Aside from cereal in the morning, we have cut out the baby food and she eats primarily table foods only now, loving pastas and breads. The thing that is driving me crazy is that she refuses to feed herself or hold a cup or bottle. She has never been one to put toys in her mouth, and that has carried over to food as well. She takes forever to eat and can be so demanding. We work with Cheerios on a daily basis and encourage her to place her hands around her bottle or sippy cup. I know she’ll catch on at some point but, gosh ,I’m getting impatient.
She is a mama’s girl. If anyone else is around she wants to be held closely by me and me alone. Daddy is great at home but when we are out and about, mommy is it. It’s great to be loved, but sheesh. And it is really great to be loved by her. She places her head on my shoulder and my heart melts. She gives me one of her huge smiles and I can’t help but smile back and forget about all the frustrations.
